最上屋旅館〈山形縣酒田市〉 (Mogamiya Ryokan)

酒田市在江戶時代因為北前船和西廻り航路而發展起來，被稱為“西之堺、東之酒田”，是一個繁榮的港口城市。昭和51年（1976年）發生的酒田大火，市區中心幾乎全被燒毀。 創業於大正15年（1926年）的最上屋旅館，在這場大火中大部分的建築都保留了下來。在創業的初期主要經營寄宿屋，過了5年左右的時候才轉為旅館。現在老闆的曾祖父是第一代，因為是木材商，所以旅館的各部分都使用了當時最優質的木材。老闆的經營方針是不更新建築物，而是保持舊的狀態。比起便利性，保留著古舊感的館內和客房對於喜歡這種東西的客人是最好的體驗。

Quaint old Ryokan in Sakata. I enjoyed my stay in particular the beatiful old room and the delightful meals.

This Ryokan was amazing! The rooms were comfortable and very traditional. The room was equipped with an air-conditioner/heater and a kotatsu table, which is a Japanese heated table. The location it wonderful, the hotel is surrounded by resturants and bars. And the owners are the sweetest and kindest couple I've met. When we visited it was cold and rainy, and we thought we had to walk to the train station, when we asked the owner to call us a taxi, he went outside and pulled up in his personal car to drive us there! Besides the very difficult to aquire taste of natto, the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Everything about my stay here was fantastic! I would absolutely recommend this ryokan!
